Financial and business translations
In 25 years, EVERYTHING has changed – global business environment, types of documents, turnaround time and tools – except the quality of our translations.
With headquarters in Milan, the country's financial capital, and offices based in major global financial capitals, Trans-Edit Group specializes in financial translations. Since 1988, we have partnered with a number of investor relation offices of Italian and international listed companies, leading auditing companies, investment funds (SGRs, SICAVs, Asset Managers), brokers, merchant banks and credit institutions, real estate companies and insurance companies.
Our strengths and further details
Financial terminology and glossaries
In translating financial documents, we adopt the official terminology of institutions like the ECB, the Bank of Italy, Borsa Italiana and ABI. We also use and regularly update specific glossaries approved by clients. In the translation of financial statements , provided the original documents are prepared in accordance with the International Accounting Standards (IAS) and the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), translation will be strictly compliant with official IASB terminology.
Trans-Edit Group offers its clients – whether SICAVs, UCITS or investment funds – broad, in-depth expertise in the translation of operating rules , manager and analyst comments, prospectuses and KIIDs. The "feel" developed over years of experience helps us choose the linguistic register most suitable to each type of document. For example, our translations of KIIDs are strictly compliant with Commission Regulation (EU) No. 583/2010. For the translation of Transfer Pricing documents, we follow OECD guidelines.
Our Finance team
Thorough knowledge of the world of domestic and international finance underpins the quality of our translations. Many of our financial translators and editors have prior work experience as financial analysts and traders. All stay up to date with regulatory changes and trends in the financial sector and often attend events and conferences organized by key industry communicators (Sole24ore, Editrice Le Fonti, Università Bocconi, etc.).
Many of our translators are members of major professional associations like ATA (American Translators Association) and AITI (Associazione Italiana Traduttori e Interpreti).
ISO:9001 certified translations
In addition to comprehensive knowledge of the subject matter, a high level of specialization in the financial sector also requires careful and rigorous management of the service. This is why Trans-Edit Group decided to obtain ISO EN 9001:2008 certification of its translation management process (certified translations).
Because of the critical nature of financial documents, actual translation is followed by and integrated with multiple redundant checks: review by an SME (Subject Matter Expert), editing, proofreading, Quality Assurance, and so forth.
The principal language combination is, naturally, English to Italian – the feather in our cap – but the presence of so many financial companies and brokers outside national borders increases the volume of financial translations from and to European languages such as German, Spanish and French.
Given the importance and the sensitive nature of the financial content to be translated, every individual on our staff is committed to the utmost confidentiality and works for Trans-Edit on the basis of stringent non-disclosure agreements.
Financial documents are translated using hardware and software resident on our own network and we use advanced double encryption technology for additional security.
